The laboratory specializes in the analysis of short period radioisotopes (²²⁴Th, ²²⁸Th and ²¹⁰Pb) as well as those of anthropogenic origin (¹³⁷Cs, ⁷Be). These radioisotopes allow the study of large timescale events and of environmental and Earth surface processes. The laboratory is equipped with alpha and beta spectrometers as well as a gamma well detector. Several types of analyses are performed for several university centers and for the private sector. The primary mission of the laboratory is an educational one through which students are trained at using specialized techniques.
