Thanks to recent advances in sensing, big data acquisition, and computational power, major energy companies set ambitious roadmaps for the digital transformation of the industry. The same concepts and tools are applicable in manufacturing, health, and geomatics, to name a few. This transformation is the main force behind increasing the efficiency and safety of sustainable resource production. In the next decade or so, harnessing big data and providing near-real-time decision-making will be the main differentiator for the impact of the industry. AI and machine learning plays an integral part in this transformation. Also, the industry is building its energy transition strategy for the next 10 to 30 years to efficiently and safely produce renewable energy resources. In this talk, I will cover machine-learning applications for signal processing and drilling optimization. I will also discuss subsurface imaging and monitoring solutions for resource production and storage.
