Stratigraphie isotopique

Several cores raised from the NW Atlantic, mostly by CSS-Hudson or by the Marion Dufresne, have been analyzed at GEOTOP. Most of these cores were collected within the framework of two major projects:

i) from 1990 to 1993, through a special collaborative project of the National Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) on the Labrador Sea (see Can. J. Earth Sci. vol 31, n°1, 1994)
ii) since 1995, through a Canadian contribution to Images (International Marine Global Change Study) through the Climate System, History and Dynamics (CSHD) project supported by NSERC and the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC).

Micropaleontological, sedimentological and stable isotopes analyses have been performed at variable resolutions on most of these cores. Files containing data on stable isotope composition of planktonic foraminifers, 14-C ages, organic carbon, carbonate and coarse fraction contents of the sediment (whenever available) can be downloaded from this data base.
