Natalya Gomez is an associate professor at McGill University and a Canada Research Chair in Ice Sheet – Sea Level Interactions. Her work at the intersection of geophysics and climate scientist centers around the interactions between ice sheets, sea level and the solid Earth, and the response of these systems to past, present and future climate changes. Her research seeks to understand and model the dynamics of past ice sheets and sea level change and apply this understanding to improve projections of these systems under future climate warming. She works with numerical modeling tools that incorporate a range of geophysical datasets and develops polar instrumentation systems to collect complimentary observations to address a suite of problems related to modern and paleo global sea level modeling, ice sheet stability and evolution, glacial isostatic adjustment, Earth rheology and mantle viscosity, and climate change driven coastal change.
